报告题目：Matching Market Design: Theory and Applications

报告摘要：Matching is one of the most important functions of various marketplaces -- who gets into which school, how to assign multiple courses to each student, and so on. In contrast to the commodity markets, a notable feature in the matching marketplaces is that price does not do all of the work. The challenge for a market designer is therefore to design matching mechanisms that can achieve socially desirable matching outcome (including efficiency and fairness) when an equilibrium price is no longer a market clearing solution. In this talk, I will present two recent studies on matching market design with applications to course allocation and college admission.
